WHAT WE DO
At K2A, we use a collaborative approach to support you to address what is important to you.
Our aim is to support you to leverage what you know to create impactful change. We provide Executive Coaching and Capacity Building focused on Leadership, Knowledge Mobilization, and Community-based Research & Evaluation.
Putting Knowledge to Action involves learning about your personal, professional, and organizational goals and sharing what you know to achieve positive results.
Our services are there to support you if you are experiencing career transitions or are creating strategic change within your organization or community-based project.
Our expertise will be particularly helpful if you are working, learning or leading in academic or executive roles in health and social services, or if you are undertaking community-based research and evaluation projects.
Without systems and supports to ensure timely access to knowledge and evidence, much of what we know remains idle. Effectively using what you know is based on mobilizing and improving your individual and organizational capacity for: engaging staff and stakeholders; managing your data and information; managing change, and implementing new ways of working. We can support you to look at your current KMb assets, plan for improvement, and build personal and professional capacity for KMb.
Through a process of discovery, goal setting, and action, coaching enables progress towards achieving your individual and professional potential. It is based on a deep foundation of knowledge, beliefs, and behaviours that advance human capacity. We can support you to identify your strengths, set goals, and take action so that you are better able to lead yourself and others to create lasting, positive change.
We don't always have the evidence and knowledge we need to make good decisions about how to improve health and social systems. High quality research and evaluation enables people to ask good questions and find answers that they need to create positive change. We can support you to build capacity needed to work together, to gather evidence, and to share what you learn to improve the systems in which you work, live, and play.
WE ARE K2A
It is no surprise that in today’s world, there are very few issues that can be addressed with simple answers. In our increasingly complex world, it is essential that we work together to identify and experiment with possible approaches to address everyday problems.
K2A's founder, Dr. Cathie Scott, believes that putting knowledge to action is everybody’s business and it is at the heart of all of our services. For example, deepening self-knowledge through executive coaching or leveraging knowledge among diverse teams using strategic conversations and facilitation strategies.
Cathie has a demonstrated history of producing quality results through leadership in research, social policy, and health and social service contexts.

THE K2A EXPERIENCE
At K2A we are committed to using evidence and knowledge to improve the world around us. By building on existing research, evaluation and experience we believe that it is possible to improve what we do and how we do it.
Cathie and I have worked together for many years in many contexts. Whether gathering evidence through research or evaluation, under Cathie’s leadership we consistently focused on moving knowledge into action. Cathie applies the same integrity, practical approach, and good humour in our coaching sessions. It’s knowledge to action coaching, personally applied. Working with Cathie has proven to be one of my best life decisions.
Cathie coached our research team through the process of a participatory action research program. This was new to all of us, and involved establishing collaborations with health system decision makers and community organizations. She gave us both practical tips and a sound theoretical and methodological basis for what we were doing. But mostly her warm and encouraging presence made it safe to take risks and celebrate every small step towards our goal.
